I've watched the Dr. Phil episode of this man and read the wikipedia info on him. He mentioned he can recall going to a library in Boulder near the University, has anyone tried to find the specific library (Bringing Benjaman to a few to see if it jog's his memory) and perhaps the Book sign-out sheet (if they still exist-long shot & if he even signed the book out or just read it there). Maybe they could look at the one's during the years he can recall and try to identify him through ruling out others or maybe seeing if the name he recalls (Benjaman) is on any of them. Also, I heard he thinks he went to a Catholic School and he remembers a few #'s in his SS#. Can they pull the records of Catholic Schools in the area for the years he would have been in school and see if there are any people named Benjaman with the few digits of his SS#'s he can remember? This story is nuts, I find it hard to believe that no one knows this guy. You can't tell me he has been on this planet for 60 years and no one knows him?!?!?!

Did you guys visit any residential areas that may have existed in the 1960s? I can imagine there are plenty of city parks, if not local elementary schools, that might be helpful.

Also, I was just reading up events by year occurring in Indiana on Wikipedia. A few interesting ones I found:

* Hurricane Debra, 1959
* Blizzard of 1967
* Bobby Kennedy's speech about MLK in Indianapolis, 1968
* Explosion in Richmond (41 people killed, 150+ injured), 1968
* Plane crash over Fairfield, 1969

I've always found looking up major historical events in newspapers really enjoyable. A few years ago I went looking through my grandparents' old dresser and found my great-grandmother's obituary from the 1981/1982; imagine my surprise when the article on the back reported the first case of HIV in Arkansas. I guess you never know what you'll stumble upon in local papers. Maybe it's worth looking into?

Has any cyeck been made against records in Europe? In NYF, a great many of the jobs in restaurants are filled with immigrant labor. It is possible he might have lost the accent over time.

Has anyone checked with agencies who train the learning disabled? It's a long shot, but the contrast between Kyle's seeming verbal abilities and the fact his vocational traning is sonspecific, makes me think either he has some academic challenges or an interrupted education. He sounds like someone who might've gone to college, but I think that if he had, his identity would've surfaced. It is not unusual for someone who has a learning disability to present themselves well verbally and to be highly intelligent. But, he might still have had difficulties which would've qualified him for very specific vocational training. Another shot inthe dark is - was he an orphan?

I know this is a long shot, but this guy looks like someone I knew in the late 60's when I worked at H.P. Wasson & Co. (which was on Meridian, just south of Monument Circle). His name was William Lee Miller. After Wasson's, I believe he went to work for Eli Lilly. When I was married in 1971, I lost track of him. Benjaman is about the right age, height, and strikingly similary look. Bill was an Army special forces vet and was wounded (shot through the shoulder) in Vietnam. If this is the same man, he should have fingerprints on file with the VA. He was a great guy, and I used to order his lunch for him at Wasson's so that he wouldn't be off the sales floor too long. He always had the same thing: cheeseburger with everything on white bread and a chocolate milk. Whatever happens, I hope and pray Benjaman finds his past. If he is Bill Miller, send him my way - he was a terrific friend and I miss him.

Benjaman,
If you are certain that you grew up in Indianapolis sometime in the
mid 50's to mid 60's, then check the high school yearbooks from 1964
through 1968 on the North side---like Broad Ripple, North Central,
Park Tudor, or even Tech, Howe, Perry, Lawrence Central because your regression pictures look familiar. I graduated from North Central in 1962 myself. Look at the senior pictures and athletic teams.
Don't give up,though, and keep positive that you will find yourself.
